Farming Method

Full Natural Cycle method

The laws of nature strictly inspired the method and, for this reason, no alternatives are allowed to an outdoor model. Natural migration is the principle in the breeding method and due to its substantial impact it represents a real revolution compared to the other methods used in the past. This has the benefit of limiting contact contamination during human/snail interaction and of respecting the habitat and snail development.

The full natural cycle method  defines a breeding system in which the habitat assumes a central role and is the only system in the market which combines an uncompromising green philosophy far removed from artificial methods that practice force feeding snails with powders and feed.
Careful calculations and assessments of soil and location are required as a first step.
The system consists of introducing breeding snails destined to mate and multiply in snail pens located on green field open air farms where they breed and multiply. The pens are subdivided between breeding and fattening zones.

Closed Method

This was developed in Greece by Agrofarma and in certain farms is more suited. Among the benefits the farm method offers is greater protection against the elements excessive rain, strong sun and large fluctuations between daytime and night time temperatures. Successfully implemented in farms across Europe by Agrofarma over a number of years.
The challenge in Ireland is to create the right farming conditions for sustainable and profitable yields.
